Matteson Public Library STEM Club

In partnership with the Museum of Science and Industry of Chicago, the Matteson Public Library presents classes covering a wide range of inquiry-based STEM related projects for children in the following age groupings:  STEM Jr for grades K-2, STEM Club for Grades 3-5, and Stem Plus for Grades 6-9.  Matteson is located in the South Suburbs of Chicago and attracts a predominantly African-American audience of girls and boys.  We have been very successful of retaining interest and participation of girls in the K-5th grade age range.  We are interested in partnering with other local and national groups to improve our retention of interest of middle and high school level girls.
