Little Makers

Little Makers is a program for children ages 5-8, which combines literacy, STEM learning, and play. Each session is designed to illuminate an age-appropriate scientific concept. We start by reading a story that touches on the session's topic, and then we read a non-fiction book that helps explain the science. Finally, we make something that allows us to creatively express what we've learned. Children in Little Makers programs are learning critical and analytical thinking, problem-solving, number and sense operations, measurement, properties of ordering, expression and representation, and scientific thinking — including collecting information through observation and manipulation; and exploring the world by manipulating objects, asking questions, and making predictions.
